چکیده

Introduction: Mitochondrial Disorders (1/4,000 patients) are rare and caused by dysfunctional mitochondria. Anesthetic consideration in patients with involves careful preoperative perioperative observations. Objective: To provide a brief insight into how general anesthetics interfere mitochondrial energy formation pathways help form precautions for anesthesiologists when managing Disorder. Review: Disorder would experience various health problems, such as damaged cardiac functions, neurology systems, musculoskeletal functions due to production disruptions processes. Moreover, exhibit hyperreactivity volatile anesthetics. Summary: No anesthetic strategies found be safe yet. Therefore, should remain alert monitoring fluid choices patient temperature Disorders.

Anesthetic considerations in patients with mitochondrial defects.

Mitochondrial disease, once thought to be a rare clinical entity, is now recognized as an important cause of a wide range of neurologic, cardiac, muscle, and endocrine disorders . The incidence of disorders of the respiratory chain alone is estimated to be about 1 per 4-5000 live births, similar to that of more well-known neurologic diseases . High-energy requiring tissues are uniquely dependen...

Mitochondrial DNA, however, is strictly inherited from the mother and each mitochondrial organelle typically contains multiple mtDNA copies. During cell division the mitochondrial DNA copies segregate randomly between the two new mitochondria, and then those new mitochondria make more copies. If only a...

Anesthetic Considerations for Alcohol Using Patients

Alcohol use poses a variety of health complications. Because alcohol consumption in the days prior to surgery can induce lower blood pressure, the anesthesiologist will need to monitor blood pressure very closely during surgery to prevent hypotension. Before surgery, it is important for anesthesiologist to be aware about the amount and timing of recent alcohol consumption. Less anesthesia shoul...

Anesthetic Considerations in Patients with Cardiomyopathies

Cardiomyopathies can generally be categorized into two groups, based on World Health Organization guidelines: extrinsic and intrinsic. In extrinsic cardiomyopathies the primary pathology is outside the myocardium. Most cardiomyopathies are extrinsic, because the most common cause is ischemia. Intrinsic cardiomyopathies is weakness in the muscle of the heart that is not due to an identifiable ex...

Thyroid disorders during pregnancy and anesthetic considerations

Our knowledge about thyroid function during pregnancy has made rapid strides in the recent past. However, there are not much published reports in anesthesia literature regarding these newer developments. Even though an anesthesiologist is not the primary care physician, he/she may occasionally encounter pregnant patients with thyroid dysfunction in routine practice of anesthesia. This article a...
